Gaelle Abalea is teaching English in a High School in Orléans, France, to mostly reluctant French teenagers.

She wrote her Master’s degree dissertation on the Influence of Christian myths in the work of Tolkien at Sorbonne University.

She wrote Death as a gift in J.R.R Tolkien’s work and Buffy the Vampire Slayer” last year in the special issue of the Journal of Tolkien Research, J.R.R Tolkien and the work of Joss Whedon” edited by Janet Brennan Croft and Kristine Larsen.

She’s currently working on (or trying to) a PhD on death, immortality, and beyond death in Tolkien’s legendarium.”
