Nick Groom

Positions

Nick Groom is Professor of Literature in English at the University of Macau, having previously held positions at the University of Exeter, University of Bristol, University of Chicago, and Stanford University. He has written extensively on eighteenth-century and Romantic literature and culture, and on national identity, but is best known for his environmental writing (The Seasons, 2013), and his work on the Gothic (The Gothic, 2012; The Vampire, 2020; and editions of four major Gothic novels); he has also published several essays on Tolkien. His latest work analyzes the cultural imagery of the pandemic (co-editor, CoronaGothic, published in November 2020).
