Sian Pehrsson

In her 20 years as a regional mapper and structural geologist with the GSC Sally has worked in the Precambrian of Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the Paleozoic of Newfoundland. She has worked extensively on the Paleoproterozoic tectonic evolution of the Churchill province and Trans Hudson orogen and its implications for regional metallogeny, and has led major projects for GSC including the Western Churchill metallogeny and Flin Flon TGI‑3 projects. She presently heads the Chesterfield Gold and Tectonics-Mineral Systems projects of the Geoscience for Energy and Minerals Program, in which her research is focusing on reconstruction of the Paleoproterozoic supercontinent Nuna, its mineral deposits and the effects of accretionary processes on deposit preservation.
