Kortney Stern is a Ph.D. candidate specializing in medieval English literature at Indiana University Bloomington. Her persistent focus has been on gender and sexuality throughout the Middle Ages. More specifically, her scholarly work assesses sound — both bodily and non-linguistic, speech acts and silences, authority, trauma and acts of resistance.
