A Senior Lecturer in Medieval Literature, Batt’s research interests include: translation; Anglo-Norman literature (currently, the registers of devotional literature); late-medieval literature in English, including Malory, the Gawain-Poet and Hoccleve (with a project in development on the motif of beheading in medieval romance); poetics and the representation of women; twentieth-century medievalism; witchcraft and the archive.
